Gastronomical Geminids

Gastronomical Geminids (13the December 2014)

Members of TweedAstroS celebrated the peak of the Geminid meteor shower with an wonderful Indian buffet meal provided by our friends at the Shukria. What a spread!

The after dinner entertainment was in the form of a presentation given by none other than Dr John Davies of the Royal Observatory, Edinburgh, co-discoverer of asteroid 3200 Phaethon, the source of the Geminid meteor shower! John also brought meteorites and models for everyone to examine and a wide range of poster and images. A really excellent evening was had by all. Thanks to everyone who supported the event and to all those who helped behind the scenes!
