ROE Trip

On the 27th January, 25 members of TAS visited the Royal Observatory, Edinburgh for a tour of the facility. The main tour was supplemented by an additional look behind the scenes of the Astronomy Technology Centre care of Dr John Davies, a staff astronomer at the Centre and an honorary member of TAS.

We got to see the 36 inch reflector in the main dome, learn about the history of the site, handle some very substantial meteorites, see some of the cutting edge work going on at the facility and even see some stars from the Observatory roof!

Our sincere thanks to John, Matjaz and Ruby for making us feel so welcome and to Graham and Tweed Wheels for providing transport.
